Be Moved Body Work

Be Moved Body Work, nestled in the Holy Cross neighborhood of New Orleans, is a quaint studio offering personalized body work sessions. Body work is a tool to not only relieve pain, improve mobility and ground the nervous system, but also can strengthen the relationship we have with ourselves as we receive new information about our energetic and physiological processes. Whether you are a recovering athlete, addressing discomfort from built up adhesions and tight fascia, working on postural corrections, or simply needing to unwind and relax, receiving a massage can be an impactful step in giving your body the care that it deserves.

Simone Maya (she/they) utilizes a variety of techniques and tools in order to best serve the needs of each individual, creating personalized massages intended to support the body’s innate desire to heal. While she focuses primarily on deep tissue and myofascial release techniques, she may also incorporate cupping, muscle scraping (Gua Sha) and assisted stretching techniques. Additionally, Simone is certified to administer Manual Lymph Drainage to the general public, post trauma and post-op patients. While understanding every body is different, each body is given the same amount of care and attention. At Be Moved Body Work, she works to cultivate trust with each patient by using compassion and curiosity to guide her sessions, while continuing to learn more about wellness and pain management in order to further support her practice.

Be Moved Body Work is a container, a space designed to support wellness, repair, awareness, and people’s individual healing journeys through body work. This means that all clients are expected to show up with respect for both the therapist and themselves. No hate or bigotry will be tolerated.
